I'm pretty sure I'd look terrible in a mullet, though. It is kinda sad that I'm seriously considering a Mustang, long considered a mullet-mobile, but I don't like the Subaru's image. And the looks are well over the top it's the only one I'd buy in black just to dial down the design a little.
GT MANAGER MS3 BOSS MODS
It does, however, have a few problems of its own- take it to the dealer for warranty work and the first thing they do, according to the NASIOC fora, is ask you what mods you've done. :-/ I'd missed it because I thought it went for STi money, and that the STi was even more expensive. I'd've put the WRX on the poll, except I'm pretty sure it wipes out all the current votes. It's high time I explored some of the options available to me in some depth over the next couple of decades. I'd consider financing (via a lease) if I had any delusion that I could keep the car under 15,000 miles a year since I am thinking I'll trade up in a few years. Or maybe even GT500, depending on how well the resale value goes and how much I can save. That said, I decided this time I'm not going to quit saving for a car just because I bought one, so there's nothing that says that I can't buy my $28,000 car now, and then trade up in three years to, say, the 50th anniversary GT.

(And making sure its the 2011, lighter and more hp and torque then previous years.) but probably not until the redesign, the car needs to lose a bit of weight.ġ) 2011 Mustang GT500. I wouldn't be surprised to see a GTDI 4-cyl end up in there as the base engine, though. the 5.0 is capable of at least 440 hp from the factory, and I don't think there's a gap or a business case to be made, not with the base engine being 305 hp. What will, however, is getting a 2010 GT only to see that nearly every other new Mustang GT Iyou see on the road has "5.0" badgesģ) there's not really a point for the the GTDI V6 right now. the previous 4.0 was a wheezer and the limp suspension you were stuck with pretty much made it a chick car.Ģ) So getting the V6 won't make you feel the fool. A cheaper version of the $41K 2012 Mustang Boss 302, basically.ġ) the 3.7 liter makes the V6 Mustang a credible performance car, now that it has non-limp power output and you can get the good suspension on it. Hell, just stick in the already EPA certified turbo V6 from the 2011 F-150. The classic Saturday night special, basically. Put in the Ecoboost L4/V6, best available suspension, brakes, driveline, and with a 'stripper' interior. So buy the GT.įord really needs to offer a modern version of the 80s Mustang SVO. If you buy the Mustang V6 every GT you see will make you feel the fool. There's way more options in that price range than you're courting. So the service guy just "goodwilled" me the MDI -> female USB cable, and that thing runs $50 if you try to buy it from VW.Īnyway, stop artificially limiting your list form some silly site. Had some small recalls they took care of quickly and when I asked them to flash the firmware on the MDI port (the ipod jack in the center console) there weren't any new versions listed in their system (even though I supplied them with VW firmware off a 3rd party site, I understood their inability to use it). I believe that's with all VWs right now, but definitely the GTI.

Oh and I got it for invoice, and you get the first 3 years of scheduled maintenance for free. But it's not like I'm going to return the thing, it's been very fun. Granted it's a blast to drive on my own, but due to the gearing of the low gears, it's really kind of a bitch to drive smoothly with company in the car.
GT MANAGER MS3 BOSS MANUAL
My only regret, which isn't really a full regret but an annoyance, is getting the 6-speed manual over the DSG auto. Almost no torque steer to speak of at all, especially when compared to the MS3 (which was my initial intention to buy, until I realized that the GTI came in a 4-door).
GT MANAGER MS3 BOSS BLUETOOTH
2010 GTI owner here (6 speed manual, but the DSG auto can be had for your budget as well) and it sounds to me like it fits pretty much all of your wants.įun to drive, bluetooth (though somewhat limited, no initiating calls from the car), ipod plug (not even usb, the actual ipod plug), built in Sirius/touch screen radio, sd card slot for additional music which I've come to enjoy.
